Mini-you, Mini-me: Introducing the World’s First 3D Photobooth

Have you ever wanted to have a mini action figure of yourself? Or perhaps you want a family portrait with a twist?

A Japanese company called Omote 3D Shashin Kan have created a photobooth (more like a room) which you can pose in while someone runs a 3D scanner over you. Everything from your hair colour, texture of your clothes and your body structure is recorded. This data gets sent to a 3D printer and voilà! you can walk away with a mini-you in hand (literally).

The cost is ¥21,000 or US $261 for a 10cm figure and double that for a 20cm replica. It might be a bit pricey but why not?!

Omote 3D have set up a pop-up store in the Eye of Gyre near Harajuku which runs from the 24 November till January 14 next year but you have to make a booking first.

Just another reason why I love Japan…..
